Great Woman Weekend – September 29

Space efficient, quick to build, expandable pre-fab house – solution to urban housing crisis is available now.  I would live in one of these in a nanosecond.

Well, this is awesome – Lacoste SS19 focuses on style not gender.  Why are men’s workout clothes often so much looser than women’s?  And why are women’s workout shorts always so much shorter?  I could go on. Is it a #ShiftorTrend? (There’s no actual hashtag for this but I’m going to start one :))

I am haunted by the image of Dr. Ford answering to a panel largely consisting of old, white men. As a parent of a son, I can take immediate action to ensure he abhors the masculinity on display, is as outraged as I am at what has transpired, and is absolutely clear on what needs to change from this moment on.  That’s a job all parents can take on right now.  Let’s raise men to be a woman’s equal.

Time will tell if the movement towards more modest, practical clothes for women (unsexiness), is a trend or a shift.  I still think no one got modern dressing for women as right as Ralph Lauren and Yves Saint Laurent in their prime. In my view, they landed classic female dressing, every bit the equivalent of menswear in fabric, comfort, style which all added up to a way for adult women to dress. The pendulum always swings too far and things are looking a little too nerdy right now.  It will be interesting where it lands.  #ShiftorTrend

Glenn Close in The wife.  A tale that will resonate long after the theatre lights dim.
